Benjamin Bellows Christopher passed away on February 25, 2010. He was 85. Mr. Christopher served in the Second World War and later earned an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a doctorate in economics from Princeton University. He began his career at Management Planning in Princeton, NJ and worked for the Federal Reserve in New York before joining the FDIC. Mr. Christopher taught graduate level economics courses at University of Maryland and the Pentagon during his career and retired from the FDIC in 1995, after 30 years of service. An avid hunter and fisherman, he maintained active ties to the eastern region of Virginia's northern neck where he was born and raised. He is survived by Virginia, his beloved wife of 49 years, sons Donald and J. Rogers, daughter-in-law Julie, and grandchildren Corbin, Catherine, and Carolynn.
