What a loss. Paul was knowledgeable about so many things and willing to share that knowledge. I loved to talk to him about pearlware. I loved having him talk about his own collection. And I really loved it when he tried to one-up the other experts. He was always great fun.

Dear Kay,
Paul was a treasure. His knowledge, and willingness to share it, were well known and unsurpassed. We knew both of you and truly mourn his passing.

To the family and friends of Paul

Please accept my sincere condolences. I too have lost a loved one to death and know how painful it feels. I get much need comfort by reading and meditating on God's promises in his Holy Writings. In it he promises at Rev 21 3 and 4 '....Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.'

You will never read this, old friend, (if it is not too presumptuous so to address a man I never met and have only known for some two short years). But what a period it has been. I feel suddenly rudderless in an ocean of unfinished studies - you will never write your definitive paper on the floriated handle but many NCS members will remember with affection and gratitude your participation in our chosen field of interest. I will never forget your gentle chiding at my perhaps too ready acceptance of the Bourne solution to the Chrysanthemum mystery and, more positively, your wealth of knowledge on Ridgway and the sources for many of the more striking Ridgway designs.

You and I share an interest in chamber music - I hope even now you can rest in peace to the glorious sounds of the Schubert quintet.

Fare well, Paul.

Sorry to hear Paul didn't make it for more years. As John and Robyn noted, we drank a lot of good wine over the years and share lots of memories. Paul made a mark on WWC that won't be replaced.Sorry not to be in town for the funeral. Hang in there Kay. Marsha

Kay,

I was there the first day that Paul arrived at Navoceano, and we were close friends for all those years. I truly wish that I had seen more of both of you in the last few years, and I certainly enjoyed our long conversation at the Leftovers lunch last December. My sincere condolences for your loss. I will miss Paul very much. I will attend the service tomorrow.

Dear Kay,
For more than 20 years, I have had the pleasure of watching you & Paul work together through the details which provided me the solutions for the maintenance & remodeling of your home. Seeing you folks in action as you blended each others well thought out individual ideas into the Grand Plan so openly showed the deep care, consideration & compassion you shared. This was only further refined as the years went by, regardless of the challenges.
I will remember Paul as a strong consevative fellow who knew when to stand his ground but more so how to give it away freely.

Ed and I had the great pleasure of meeting Paul when he and his wife and other family members came for the wedding of his sister Barbara and Angelo. We had one of the best parties of our lives--he really knew how to choose wines! I know that the family will never be able to fill up the great place he filled in their lives, except by remembering him all the days of their lives. We only met him once--and we won't forget him either.
